Page 9 of "An Introduction to Iraq" provides a brief history of the No 1 Armoured Car Company, from 1915 when it was employed in fighting against the Turks in Mesopotamia in the Battle of Ctesiphon to 1935 when it was supporting the Royal Air Force in defending its landing grounds and bases as well as long distance reconnaissance. At the time of publication (August 1935) the commanding officer of the No 1 Armoured Car Company was Squadron Leader (later Group Captain) Ronald S Sugden, CBE, AFC.
