Crash of 6 Squadron BE2d March 1917

The BE2d Serial 6241 of 2nd Lt A Appleton (pilot) and Cpl A J Cooper (observer) was shot down in flames on the 17th March 1917 during combat with five German aircraft over Polygon Wood. Both men were killed in the crash. This photograph was kindly supplied by Trevor Henshaw.
